Julie Hiscox

Originally from London, Ontario, Canada, Ms. Hiscox holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters of Music Degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music where she studied with Phyllis Bryn-Julson. Her operatic roles include Musetta in La Boheme, Belisa in Kam Morrill's contemporary opera Don Perlimplìn (Peabody Opera), Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Susanna in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro. Ms. Hiscox has sung the classical theatre role of Maria in The Sound of Music for the Bethesda Summer Music Festival. She regularly performs musical theater, cabaret and song recitals, especially Lieder by Richard Strauss and Joseph Marx. Orchestral appearances include Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Mozart’s Requiem and his Laudate Dominum from the sacred work Solemn Vespers. Ms. Hiscox is a member of the voice faculty at The Music School: The Bryn Mawr School for Girls and was the recipient of the Anne Arundel Community College Teaching Excellence Award.
