Brenda Anna, First Violin
Concertmaster Brenda Anna attended the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, where she studied with Yong Ku Ahn, Charles Libove, and David Geber of the American String Quartet. She has also studied and participated in workshops with Elisabeth Adkins and Arnold Steinhart.
She currently serves as concertmaster of the Columbia Orchestra and is a member of the National Philharmonic. In addition, Brenda is a busy freelance performer in the Baltimore/Washington area. An avid chamber music performer, Ms. Anna has worked with the Quinten Quartet, the Dickinson Piano Quartet, the Gallery Quartet, and the Riversdale Chamber Ensemble.
Ms. Anna has performed as soloist with the Mid-Atlantic Symphony, the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland, the Prince Georges Philharmonic, the Prince Georges Symphony, the Arundel Summer Orchestra, the Messiah College Orchestra, and the Columbia Orchestra. She teaches in her private studio, and is a member of the faculty of Princeton Chamber Music Playweek in Lexington, VA, a summer program for adult amateur chamber musicians.
