About the Concert
2020 is Beethoven's 250th birthday, and we kick off our celebration with his Seventh Symphony. From its solemn march featured in "The King's Speech" to its rousing finale that Wagner declared "the apotheosis of the dance," it's a symphonic experience like no other!
"Taigu" is the Chinese pronunciation of "Taiko," or Japanese drumming, and Zhou's orchestral work explores the powerful energy and spirit behind this unique art form. The drama continues with instrumental music from Bizet's show-stopping opera and the incredibly talented winners of our Young Artist Competition round out this exciting program.
Free pre-concert lecture at 6:30pm!
