Diane Yang, violin
Diane Yang is a 16-year-old sophomore at Mount Hebron High School in Ellicott City and is in her third year of studying with Rebecca Henry at Peabody.
Born in Syracuse, New York, to a family with three generations of professional musicians, Diane started playing violin under the instruction of her mother and piano with her father at age 4. She has been a winner of multiple competitions such as AMTA, MSNTA, and was a finalist of the Huntsville Youth Orchestra Young Artists in 2007. Diane was also a concerto winner and performer with the Chesapeake Youth Symphony Orchestra in 2010. She is a member of the Peabody Youth Orchestra and Pre-Conservatory Violin Choir at Peabody Preparatory. She is the Senior Division String Winner of the Columbia Orchestra’s 2012 Young Artist Competition.
Along with music, Diane has also been involved in figure skating and cheerleading. She would like to thank Mr. Jason Love for the chance to perform tonight and for the support of her family and teacher.
