Since 1984, Kinetics Dance Theatre has continued to work as a non-profit Professional Dance Company and School of Contemporary Dance. Kinetics celebrates this milestone with a year of master classes, the annual International Dance Festival, and concerts showcasing collaborations with guest artists. Founders Dorothy Fried, Stephanie Simmons, and Keith Nichols launched KDT to promote dance through performance and to offer high quality dance education to students of all ages. Grant support and Annual Fund monies have enabled Kinetics to provide the community with professional dance performance/workshops, to offer small classes for children with special needs, and to give opportunities for young talent to perform through in the Senior and Student Dance Companies. Kinetics’ goal has been to guide, motivate, and inspire students and audiences towards becoming supportive and knowledgeable about the art of dance. Under the artistic direction of Priscilla Kaufhold, Kinetics Dance Theatre’s Professional Company performs curriculum-based movement programs in schools, interactive workshops for business meetings, and gives performances in senior centers as well as concert venues. Kinetics mission is to support and promote Contemporary Dance and the arts.
