Saturday, September 12, 2015 - 7:30 p.m.
The Columbia Orchestra Piano Trio kicks off our chamber series in a program with a thrilling range of mood and styles. The stormy Romanticism of Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No. 1 in D Minor shares the program with tango-inspired rhythms of Astor Piazzolla's homage to “Summer” from Four Seasons of Buenos Aires and the passionate virtuosity of Zoltán Kodály’s Duo for Violin and Cello. Guest Maryland composer Joel Puckett will be on hand for the performance of two of his works: Infinite Morning, a lovely air for violin and piano, and bill-y-tude, a solo piano piece inspired by Billy Joel.
Admission to this event is FREE. Donations to support the chamber series are gladly accepted.
