Chamber Concert One

Details

The amazing talents of Columbia Orchestra members will be on display as small ensembles present great works of the chamber music literature in the beautiful, intimate setting of Christ Episcopal Church in Columbia.

This concert features a string quartet playing music by Gershwin and the rarely heard Austrian composer Franz Schmidt. The Columbia Orchestra Brass performs "Fanfare from La Peri" by Dukas, Ewald's Brass Quintet, "Honor and Arms" from Handel's Samson, and several popular favorites.

These concerts are FREE and no seat reservation is required. (Donations to support the series are gladly accepted.) The concert will be about hour in length with no intermission.

Kinetics Dance Theatre and narrator Greg Jukes join the orchestra for Scheherezade, Pirates of the Caribbean, and more! Try your hand at playing instruments at our Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, sponsored by Music & Arts.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day weekend with Celtic classics featuring the Teelin Irish Dance Company in music from the Emerald Isle. Vocalist Rob Zappulla and the Columbia Jazz Band join the orchestra for A Tribute to Frank Sinatra performing some of old blue eyes' most beloved songs. Plus highlights from My Fair Lady, Jaws, Star Trek, and more round out this family-friendly event!

This concert features Dvorak's Serenade for Wind Instruments, a new work by Maryland composer Mark Lackey, highlights from Schubert's Trout Quintet, and more!

Battle of Havre de Grace Commemoration

Join the Columbia Orchestra for a free, open-air concert at Havre de Grace Concord Lighthouse Grounds. The orchestra is honored to perform as part of the city's three-day commemoration of the Battle of Havre de Grace in the War of 1812.
