Today, I am reaching out to you with a great volunteering opportunity for your K-12 student musicians to perform, serve, and grow musically.

This summer I have started up a volunteer organization, UNMUTE, a group of student musicians from Howard County which focuses on outreach programs, widespread services and providing opportunities for K-12 students to serve the community with open hearts. UNMUTE strives to restore and revive the sound output of not only the instruments but also the voices of their audiences.

Ever since I started taking private music lessons in 2016, I have frequently volunteered in hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living centers in the DC/MD/VA area. My experience has not only strengthened my music but also given me life-changing experiences, all while allowing me to make a positive impact on my community. It is my sincere hope that students across schools and grades can learn to share their unique talents with those in need and bring color and hope to the lives of many through music.

UNMUTE currently volunteers at the Lutheran’s Village at Miller’s Grant located at 9000 Father’s Legacy Ellicott City, Maryland 21042 (next to the Miller's Branch Library in Ellicott City) on every other Saturday from 4 pm to 5 pm. Student musicians at all levels are welcomed as long as they have hearts to serve and music to perform! As more student musicians show interest in volunteering through your help, UNMUTE hopes to expand to more locations and serve more people in need.

If any of your K-12 students are interested in volunteering as student musicians, please feel free to direct them to the sign-up link here: For any questions or comments, I can be reached via email [] or cell phone# 301-256-2465. Please also stay tuned for the launching of UNMUTE's website during the Labor Day weekend. If possible, it would be greatly appreciated if you could forward this information to other fellow private teachers who you think may be interested.

Thank you!
